Publish Your Book:
One Hour Talk
Do you have a terrific book, or book idea, but can’t seem to get an agent to represent you because you don’t have a “platform” [that is, code for “famous”]? Do your query letters go unanswered by publishers because…oh yeah…you don’t have a platform…or an agent? Do you feel that self-publishing is what people do when all else fails: a lame mom-and-pop operation where you pay for and do everything yourself…?
There’s good news! All the resources you need to become a published, successful, and supported author are available to you now––without having to make endless pitches, compromise your vision, spend a fortune, or peddle books in the trunk of your car.
In this one-hour talk you will learn that…
- The hallowed halls of traditional publishing are not all they’re cracked up to be, and are, in fact, showing signs of age.
- Cutting-edge technologies are turning the industry on its head, offering exciting alternatives that are faster, collaborative, and infinitely more empowering for today’s authors.
- You can enjoy all the editorial, design, and marketing benefits of a big publishing house, while still owning the rights to your book.
About the Presenter
Thirty years of experience as a teacher and a leading expert in the field of space clearing wasn’t enough for Stephanie Bennett Vogt to get the attention she needed to land a book contract the old-fashioned way. After four years of doggedly pursuing her dream (and countless rejection letters later), she decided to take matters into her own hands and venture into the whole new universe of Subsidy Publishing––a world, which she says, is “way more cutting-edge, dynamic, and changing by the minute.”
In less than a year Stephanie became an award-winning author of Your Spacious Self: Clear Your Clutter and Discover Who You Are––a spiritual guide to clutter clearing that is radical in its message and elegant in its simplicity. With steady sales via both online and brick and mortar booksellers, Your Spacious Self is currently being developed into a ten-session online course, a three-minute flash movie, and a free subscription email series––all designed to sell books, deliver her message, and build an enthusiastic following of readers for years to come. None of these companion features would ever have materialized, she says, without the hands-on experience of midwifing her book and the willingness to let go of attachment to the outcome.
