Refresh (and Beautify) with Water

Drinking good water (half your body weight in ounces every day) is like hitting the refresh button on your body…And the fourth way to ease the side-effects of clearing.*

I’m no scientist, but here’s what I know about water:

  • Most of us are dehydrated and we don’t even know it.
  • Our bodies are made up mostly of water; the leaner we are, the more water we are.
  • We need to drink half of our body weight in ounces every day to stay fully hydrated. If you weigh 150 pounds, for example, that means drinking 75 ounces a day. For therapeutic benefits, increase this ratio by 20-40%.
  • Chugging 2 glasses of water first thing in the morning flushes out toxins. I’m told you have to chug, not sip, to get the most benefit.
  • Not all water is created equal. Some of the expensive bottled water is very acidic (as opposed to alkaline on the pH scale), which, like eating certain foods, creates free radicals in the body.
  • Free radicals are molecules that are missing an electron. Like little hungry Pac Man junkies, free radicals roam the body looking to bond with, and feast…on our healthy tissues and organs.
  • We don’t die, we oxidize. To put it more crassly, we rust. If you wonder what that looks (or feels) like as we get older, think joint pain, and wrinkles. Everything we do, including exercise and plain old breathing is a natural process of oxidation.
  • Drinking good water reverses the aging process, lubes the joints, and is energizing.
  • Increasing our intake of good water brings the glow back into our face…and life. Who needs all those expensive face creams and remedies to combat stress when we can reach for the water instead.

If you’re interested in learning more about the healthful and neutralizing benefits of alkaline water and a Japanese-made machine that ionizes water (separates the acidic content), go to ThisisGoodWater.com.

On this site there is an illuminating 15-minute video [go to "Videos" in the header bar, and look for the Play arrow where it says "Water Quality Demonstration" underneath the big splashing Kangen Water TM icon].  Among its many fascinating facts and features, it shows which brands of bottled water on the market today are the most acidic to our bodies.

p.s. I just bought one of these ionizing machines for our household (on the installment plan – it’s not cheap, unfortunately). After just three weeks, I feel like a changed person. For starters, I have tons of energy, feel more joy, and my knees don’t hurt when I go down the stairs – just from drinking water that comes out of my kitchen tap!  If you’re interested to know more details  (my experience, the benefits, testimonials, cost), shoot me an email in the header tab where it says “Ask Stephanie.”

Okay…time for a glass of water. Bottoms up!

  1. Hi Stephanie -
Last February I started seeing a nutritionist and he told me the same thing about the number of ounces of water you should drink in a day. When he first told me I thought I was going to drown! I stuck to it though and have experienced great productivity and health benefits. I still struggle to drink enough, but I do it anyway. Glad you have found the same thing!
    To your success!

Part of what makes bottled water so terrible are the benzenes in the plastics. When I drive for work, I use a stainless steel container. And in the hot of summer I freeze half a container of my purified water over night and then fill the rest up in the morning. I am good to go. It stays nice and cool for 6 hrs in my car, without a cooler (due to the ice).
It is the best thing in the world.
