About Me
You’ve heard of the Horse Whisperer? You could say that I’m a “house” whisperer. My passion is helping people connect with the spaciousness inside them but clearing and caring for the spaces “outside” them.
In 1996 I walked away from teaching at one of Boston’s preeminent schools at the height of a twenty-year career. I was at the top of my game, yet I felt completely lost and disconnected from my life’s purpose. I didn’t know what I loved anymore, or who I was. Thus began my journey of clearing that would last ten years and lead to four major discoveries, some profound life changes, and a book.
The first big discovery was that I had clutter. Lots of it. For someone as neat and tidy and organized as I am, this came as a huge shock.
The second revelation was that I didn’t need to go on a pilgrimage or meditate on a mountaintop to find myself. My home became my temple, my clutter was my teacher, and my journey of self-discovery began with clearing out a single drawer.
Intrigued by the idea that our spaces reflect us, affect us, and ultimately can support us, I was led to study with some of the world’s leading experts in the field of environmental space clearing, personal clearing, feng shui, clutter clearing, dowsing, and Women’s Spirituality. I completed two multi-year certification programs in the process, and renewed my studies in metaphysics which began as a teenager in Mexico City where I was born and raised.
The third pleasant surprise was that my gift and love of teaching never disappeared. It got better. I now serve on the faculty of the New England School of Feng Shui, the Kripalu Center, and the Women’s Well, offering my unique clearing programs to beginners and practitioners alike.
My fourth discovery was a passion for writing as a way to inspire clearing as a journey, and a way of life. Your Spacious Self offers a whole new way to relate to the clutter in our lives and uncovers the secret why most clearing efforts do not last. It outlines one of the simplest pathways to freedom: When we tend our homes in small ways, we take care of ourselves. When we take care of ourselves, we bring the world back into balance. When we restore balance, everyone wins!
When I’m not teaching, or writing, or “whispering,” I love spending time with my husband and beautiful daughter in Concord, Massachusetts where we live… just a stone’s throw from the homes of other (three-name) authors: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Louisa May Alcott, and Henry David Thoreau.
Thank you for visiting my Blog. In the true spirit of the word “remember” which means to call back and gather all of the missing parts of your self that have been lost or forgotten, I offer my best wishes in your journey of remembering, reclaiming, and experiencing Your Spacious Self!
