validation2

There’s this really adorable movie on YouTube called Validation. It’s the story of a parking garage ticket validator whose mission it is to make people smile.

I’ve seen it three times already!

This movie is pure feel-good. It delivers a great message and is a good reminder of how powerful humans can be with their words.

Professionally made, it’s worth the 16 minutes it takes to view it. But if you don’t have much time, all you need is to watch the first four minutes to enjoy the effect it has.

So here’s what I’m wondering:

  • How does watching the movie make you feel exactly? (i.e. what happens to your breathing, heart rate, mood, energy level, etc.) And how long do these sensations last?
  • How does giving someone else a compliment make you feel? What’s it feel like to give of yourself in this unconditional way? How are you received by the other person?
  • How does complimenting your self (either out loud or in writing) feel? Does it feel different from complimenting somebody else? The same?

This may seem silly, but the fact is complimenting ourselves and/or others raises the energy level for everybody. Higher energetic frequencies have a natural softening effect on all those stuck or holding-on places (aka clutter) within ourselves. To take a quote out of my book:

If you were to measure the energetic frequency of a junked car or road rage we would probably find that these vibrate at a much different rate than objects or experiences that make us laugh or feed our soul. in energetic terms, objects that we don’t use or love vibrate at a much lower frequency (fewer cycles per second) than things that make our heart sing. Fear and worry are lower and less coherent than peace or joy. Judgments are lower than observations….You get the idea.”

So here’s a suggestion: Place a Post-it note on your car dashboard, refrigerator, or mirror to remind yourself how awesome you are! Notice how it feels. When you stop noticing the message, replace it with a new message on a different color Post-it.

Feel free to add your thoughts on the movie…your noodlings… ah-has…even your post-it validations! I’d love to hear from you!
