Alive and Blooming: Celebrating My Boomer Generation

“The Boomers are Coming and They Won’t Play Dead.” This was the message on one of the gorgeous banners of the new division of Huffington Post that was unveiled this week on October 3rd.

Other catchy titles…

  • The Joys (Sort Of) Of The Half Empty Nest.
  • Menopause: The Bitch Is Back.
  • We Invented Reinvention.
  • To Thine Own Self Be True — And Other Eternal Truths.
  • Andy Rooney is Retiring and I Want His Job.

Huff/ Post 50 is also the new home for my articles!

If  haven’t had a chance to read my first post on the site, check it out. It’s called Clear a Drawer, Change Your Life: A Surprising Path to Reinvention. In it I share my own “messy” tale of reinvention, and 5 basic truths about clearing.

Whether it is a lighter load, a quieter mind, a better mood, a solution to a problem that you’re chewing on, less attachment to outcomes, attracting your soulmate, or finding your mojo, I offer this all purpose recipe here.

Spearheaded by Rita Wilson [editor-at-large and wife of Tom Hanks] and the iconic Arianna Huffington, Huff/ Post 50 is a new boomer go-to place for information and inspiration.

It’s a brilliant concept. After all unlike previous generations, there are a lot more of us around, we’re feisty, and we’re straddling two gargantuan eras: the industrial age and the digital. We remember rotary phones and the days when talking on the phone meant sitting in one place. Besides, as Wilson points out, ours is a generation that produced some of the all-around best music!

And I, for one, would add: we live in a time of greater awareness, infinite possibilities, and I feel like I’m just getting started!

Huff/ Post 50 is not just timely, but the content is first rate. For starters, even if you’re not a boomer, you might enjoy reading:
