Wabi Sabi Wins: Finding Beauty in Life’s Imperfections

“Teach me old woods to wither glad.” –Danish hymn by Adam Oehlenschläger, 1813

If you’ve been following my clearing messages, or read my book, you’ve probably heard me say that when it comes to successful clearing, we need to shift our focus away from the problem.

The magic and ultimate success in clearing is not found in “fixing” the overwhelming piles, the endless to-do lists, the insane amount of stress… or whatever your challenge happens to be.

Clearing is not about the problem (nor the solution, for that matter), but how we relate to it.

Similarly, when I find a resource that matches this philosophy and leads to cultivating a clear and spacious life, I want to be sure you know about it.

Arielle Ford’s book Wabi Sabi Love: The Ancient Art of Finding Perfect Love in Imperfect Relationships is one of these resources.

Wabi Sabi is an ancient Japanese art form that honors all things old, worn, and weathered. It seeks to find “beauty and perfection in the imperfections.” Learning Wabi Sabi transforms “tired” relationships so they feel new, fresh, and exciting!

With my best wishes for a clear and spacious new year!
